Overview: With demand for professionals
skyrocketing, future computer science engineers have a lot to look
forward to. Job openings in computer science and computer programming
are expected to be higher than all other professions for the next
ten years.
Role: Computer scientists and programmers seek to improve
computer capabilities and output. In order to do this, they must
constantly develop and test theories, invent, control, and understand
new languages, and use multiple technological tools to accomplish
goals.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer
Programming is required. Those with more advanced pre-employment
degrees and certifications will probably find opportunities than
others. A proven devotion to computer science history and education
is also quite important as a stepping stone to more high level jobs
in this field.
